shotgun miss fire

So I bought a charles daly field master 12 ga pump back when I first turned 18, 5 years ago. For the first 400 rounds all was well. Which was all Target of course. Then out in the field had a good shot at a pheasant and wouldn't ya know it, click!!! No boom. Rechamber and it shot fine. Went home cleaned the heck out of it. And then went out 2 months later and it seemed about once every 20 roundabout I'd just get a click. The firing pin would strike the primer and leave an indentation. Just not quite hard enough to get it to discharge. So I thought it must be the cheap ammo right??? Nope I have tried every different ammo except reloading my own. Haven't really been using the gun to much anymore because of this. been considering swapping out firing pin and spring but I dont really want to do it if I'm not sure it will work. I am NO GUN SMITH I'm just good at looking how things work and making a fix of it but in guns it comes down to hundredths of an inch.....any input fellows??

How old is the ammo?

They're all different ages. I personally believe its not the ammo. It happens with every type of round I have owned probably put 8+ types through it. Only round it didn't happens was some 3 inch slugs because I haven't shot even because theyre to damn expensive.

Try swapping and using strictly high brass to see if it will help. I had a buddy that had a similar problem and high brass helped a good bit. If not, take it to a good gunsmith and get them to check it out.
