Should I buy this 4Runner? What to look for on PPI?

Supposedly a quart every 3000 miles or so is supposed to be acceptable although personally I think the only car I have ever owned that burned that much oil was an old 1966 VW Crewcab.
Might check the PCV valve and do a compression check. Check coolant for oil
Probably cost around $600 to do the timing belt right which is ALL the belts and pulleys and the water pump.
I am going to do an oil change probably tomorrow, I have just over 8000 miles on this oil from a cross country trip, I think at least looking at the dipstick that I haven't burned more than a couple tablespoons in that 8000 miles but will see when I change it.

That is where I live abroad for six month back in 2006. I studied at the TEC.
Again, Consider not driving a car in Mexico (but I know you have a dog). They have a great inner city and city to city bus system. City to City buses can be first class and are not pricy at all. I explored a lot during my six months and Cuernavaca was a good home base. Only issue is Mexico city is in the way of getting up to northern Mexico easily.

Unfortunately, having a dog makes the bus system, or even most taxis impossible to use if he is with me. While in the cities, however I will most certainly make use of public transportation when he is not with me. The buses of Mexico are great compared to our buses here, or so I am told, I have never actually rode greyhound, LOL but they look scary in the movies!!
Actually, I have lived in Nicaragua in the past and drove there without incident (other than the inevitable mordidas) so feel fairly comfortable driving in Mexico.

Sadly came to ask a question since I'm planning on becoming an official 3rd gen T4R owner soon, but haven't been able to post due to the limit imposed on new members.

oh, 100% - the post limit is redundant as hell. The whole point was to prevent bots from spamming the boards with new threads, but even that does very little as they tend to also update a decade old thread; seems like all it does is make things difficult for normal folk new to the site. A very pointless measure
