Should I buy this truck?!

Hey everyone, I wondering if I should buy this 86 4runner with a SAS. I already have a 87 sr5 and looking at this like a little investment because I think I could make some coin off of it by fixing/cleaning it up a bit.
Pros:
84 or 85 axle
guy said a shop did a clean install (the PO had the SAS done)
new 35in tires
5.29s
well it says the rest in the ad

Cons:
the guy lives like three hours from me
no idea what it would take to really clean up without seeing it in person
gotta be some more

Just curious what you think?

Why are most of the pics only of the driver side? The one picture of the passenger side is just of the fender.

Ask for more pics before making the trek. Or even ask of they can meet you half way.

Biggest thing is rust.. id be more concerned on the frame rusting out than anything body can be fixed however once the rust starts its hard to fix and time consuming. Get him to snap a picture or two underneath.

Some interior and underside pics..Could definitely use an interior cleaning

Maybe you know your market better than I do, but I don't see much room for profit there. Around these parts that's a $4500-$5000 truck.

That's what I was thinking. He said he'd sell it to me for $4500 but even if I get him down to 4 that's not a huge profit. I honestly don't really know how much it could be worth. Also I love the idea of a wheeler but I just don't really wheel so it wouldn't be really realistic for me to keep

If you aren't gonna use it as a 4wd truck regularly then its probably not worth it.

Great deal if you are looking to go off roading on the regular or if you had a nice donor vehicle.

I hate red on a truck and red interior is the worst.

I question that he had a shop do the SAS, or at the very least they cut corners to save money doing it. The steering looks home brewed. It's technically not even high steer, the steering arms look like the factory "J" arms, that's why the factory tie rod is still running under the leaf springs. If it had an aftermarket high steer kit, the tie rod would be running above the leaf springs, and out of harms way. I say factory tie rod, because an aftermarket one would be bigger diameter and made of DOM tubing. Aftermarket steering arms are machined to be thicker and way stronger, the passenger side steering arm has been heavily modified, and looks dangerous, especially running large tires, I'd be afraid of it breaking going down the freeway at 70 mph!

So at the very least you'd be looking at a little over $300 for a new high steer kit, but then it make you wonder what else they cut corners on...

**EDIT** The more I look at the pics of the front suspension the more red flags I see, definitely not a Professional SAS job. The front hanger looks like the they cut the front spring mounts off of a straight axel truck and grafted them to the ifs frame. The back shackle mounts are welded to the bottom of the frame, instead of cutting holes and welding tubes through the frame! I would definitely STAY AWAY from buying this 4runner!!!

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm not going to get it. Just noticed the ghetto fab on that steering setup too. Haha appreciate the input!
