Should I keep it

OK I have a question about my 1999 4runner limited Im not sure if I should keep it. My dad said ditch it but its super nice and its a limited its a 2wd and has 250k miles. It needs shocks, struts, timing belt, and so on i figure $2,000 to fix it all. Runs great drive it to school has a salvage title though. If i was to sell it how much would you pay for it I will post pictures later.

Being a salvage with 250K and only a 2wd, I don't think you will see much more than what the repairs will cost. But that 2000.00 could make a pretty nice rig. that is assuming you do all the work yourself to save on labor.

Have you checked to see if you have any rust build up?

Well I paid $2000 for it and had to do a few things when it was wrecked it was hit in the front and back. The frame is not to bad I don't think normal for a 15 year old car i sprayed it with rust inhibitor. What do you think i could sell it for?

Being salvaged...I wouldn't recommend someone paying more than 1200.00 based on the stated condition, but you could possibly get close to 2000.00 out of it.

just for reference, i paid 2300 for mine, it had 230k on it, its 4wheel drive and stick. I had to do the timing belt, valve cover gaskets and LBJ's. I don't think i would pay more than 1500 for one with that many miles that wasn't 4wd.
