Should I paint or leave alone

Here is my question I was inspired by the black and red sports hood. I was thinking about painting my chrome bumpers but I don't know if I should pull the trigger. My idea is to paint the bumpers the same color as the rims.

Same color as the rims would look good.
REALLY do your homework on painting chrome. All I know is that you really need to scuff up the chrome.

I took the plunge and ripped off my rear bumper and am in the process of painting now. As far as the front bumper is concerned I'll paint it on the truck to much hassle to take off

Front bumper comes off real easy. LOL

Easier than the back and if so I'd rather pull it off

yea the front bumper is actually easier. just pull off your turn signals, then behind the bumper just inside the turn signals there are 4 bolts. 2 on each side

There is one other bolt on each side in the wheel wells. I used my grinder and scratched them up pretty heavy now just waiting for it to cool down so I can pant them.

I wrote thread mentioned above and would like to add that multiple coats are necessary and that going down to your local automotive paint depot for paint and advice is probably a good idea.

I've owned two 4Runners and have painted both front and rear bumpers 2x on the vehicle. Just takes a roll of tape and some newspaper. But, its all about preference!

Scuff with ~220, clean with acetone, prime, paint, its not too bad!
