And they're shiny black as opposed to matte black, plus they're lacking the middle mounting point the OEM tube steps have.

so..... since they are not factory does that mean they are better or worse? haha
and how much would sliders run me plus installation? these are sturdy enough to use as sliders so i wasnt to worried but im not sure.... haha

I'm not sure if they're better or worse, but for what it's worth there's no way you could use the OEM tube steps as sliders because they're only made out of aluminum. With that being said, I think you'd be pretty disappointed pretty quickly if you ever found one of your steps trying to hold your rig up on a rock.

Slider prices vary based on the manufacturer and construction.
Here are some pics of cbi's bolt on sliders on my 4Runner. The install was easier than expected and took me around 2 hrs to install by myself.
