Did a ton of reading here and decided to try and fit 285/70/17 BFG KO2 tires on my 2013 fully stock SR5. Long story short: They fit just fine! No rubbing and no issues so far. Mind you, I don't know how they will behave off-road but I rarely go off road so I am not too concerned.

Tire shop didn't want to put them on stock wheels, but I asked them to try and it worked!

285s or 275s on SR5?

Just bought first 4runner 2011 SR5. Looking to get new tires without having to do a lift/any major modifications. Can i fit 285s under or would you guys recommend running 275s. Thanks in advance!
 
So the general consensus is I shouldn't have a any problems driving my TE 4Runner from my house (where I'll be installing my new tires after the rims get powder coated) to the place where my lift is going to be installed.
 
285 Ko2 on stock trail rims and no lift or wheel spacers-----> no rub

285 k02 on stock trail rims and 1 inch wheel spacers and lift ----> rubbed on body mount and front inner fender.

so as someone pointed out, YMMV
 
Stock height 2016 Trail Edition KDSS on 285/70/17 KO2s. I made a video on the fender and mud flap modifications I had to do. Does not rub off-road as far as I can tell.

There are some experienced installers in the southeast that didn’t seem to think this could be done. Unsure if an SR5 would have more issues with the different wheel size.
