Well, I'm at work, and have a question for you folk, because I'm bored as F**K.

Can someone measure the distance between the bars for me?

Have you seen my setup or 42's on u? They're both a couple pages back, we have the same craftsman toolbox mounted between our roll bar.

I have, and that's why I'm looking for the width and length, unless you have the part number for the box that you used?

45" between the rear bars, 46.5" between the front bars. 17.5" between the front and rear bars measuring from the middle of the tube. I don't remember a part number for the box but let me poke around some more, see if I can come up with one.

So I'm gonna bump this cuz I couldn't find an answer in this thread or the others I've read. To anyone who has done this mod is the rear kick panel still accessible in 99+ 4runners. The pics I've seen show the roll bar to be pretty close to it and I just can't tell. Thanks!
 
First, I'm genuinely asking. What's the point of this mod? I mean, I understand the use of roll bars, and it comes in handy on a Miata, but on a T4R?

Do you do it because you go on some super hardcore off-road trips or just because you like the cool factor of it?

Well it won't save you in a rollover if you mount it like what is shown. The force of the rollover will just push it through the cheap sheet metal. It's mainly a cool factor I guess. I'm getting one to see if I can actually tie it into the frame and make it function like a roll bar should. I also like the cool factor too.

You can still access it. You've got a couple of inches to take the door off and get stuff in and out. I got mine because it looks cool but a lot of people use it as a mounting point for storage systems.
