[MENTION=107716]jpclark[/MENTION] any idea if you'd be able to access the ladder if there was no jerry can/hi lift in the way? instead of having that support tube go all the way across, have it go back down before the end of the tire so there is direct access to the ladder?

I suppose if you wanted we could loose the jerry can mount all together and shorten the over all length of the tube so that it would leave the left side of the hatch open. Jerry can mounting would not be an option at that point though.

The rubber bumper is something that we have done on most all of our tire carriers in the last few years. It simply helps provide more stability to the rack and reduce any wobble and vibration.

Option "B" is my preference. I am thrilled to hear you are redoing the rear bumper from option "a".. I would like the bumper to have the tire offset to passenger side and two jerry can mounts on driver side. Similar to the 3rd gen bumper. I drool daily over 80 series cruiser bumpers and have been waiting years for you guys to make it like the 3rd gen version:blah:. Please and thank you!

No frame modifications are necessary.

Yes. It is a wire loom that runs back to the tail light for the new license plate light provided.

Rear camera issue.. SOLVED

OK... As I mentioned prior, I was in the exact same boat as most other 5th Gen'ers wanting (virtually any) rear bumper. Sporting this incredible Shrockworks prototype of their revised rear bumper, I was however NOT a happy camper every time I put the rig in reverse.. SO... I set out to find an answer. With some quality advise from some friends at Car Toys, I opted to bypass - rather than relocate - the rear camera. We started with a Kenwood CMOS-220 unit. Next, we had to get it wired to the factory head unit with an Audiovox TYRVCH OEM harness. This is an inline harness that will bypass the existing camera and is for all intents and purposes, essentially plug and play. With a bit of adjustment on the camera, you'll end up with an awesome solution for towing and/or pure safety. Especially note the last pics that show just how well the solution aligns me in the parking spot.

(In case you're wondering... the camera is in the very center of the swing out.. the small square less than 1" square.)

How easy is it to remove the swing out? Once it's removed do you have to do anything special with the hinge(right word?) to protect it?

As for removing the swing out, the entire thing can be removed by pulling the 1" bolt that acts as the hinge but I would recommend at least pulling the tire off separately because the weight of all the accessories can certainly add up.
