Shrockworks: Buyer Beware

Surprised I even have to make this thread. Purchased Shrockworks sliders, went to install and the installation hardware is missing. I got around to finally installing about 2 months after I received the sliders, but the box wasn't touched. Thank you military for sending me on orders out of town. After 4-5 emails to their customer service, and phone call with no reply.. here I am. I have sliders in my garage that can't be installed. Customer service is paramount for any fabrication company, and this is unsatisfactory to say the least.

this has always been a problem with shrockworks. For some idiotic reason, they always seem to be missing hardware or fasteners, and they don't seem to care.

I don't disagree but it's the stick-nuts that are a PITA (if you don't have a MIG)

This dude had to hit the hardware store 2 times. In researching bumpers there were a lot of posts about missing hardware.

I have Shrockworks sliders and luckily all my hardware was included.

I picked some up earlier this year for our 4Runner and they're great products. Granted, I called, he answered right-away and I asked if they had any in stock. He said yes, I drove up the next day (since I live nearby) and he hooked me up with everything.

I won't say it was a super inviting experience but it was straightforward. The guy working in the shop though was super nice and pleasant.

That's a bummer. I had a completely different experience with my purchase of their sliders, front bumper, and complete skid plates. Each time they arrived, they came with almost double the amount of hardware. Sorry to hear that man.

That's been my experience as well - had to run to ace hardware for the rear bumper, the front bumper came with an extra box of hardware but still had to source the correct parts - yet I keep coming back for more of their products (have a full set of skids on the way) :der:

Yeah. I was missing a bolt and nut for skid plates from a very respected fabricator and vendor on here. If it's just a bolt or nut and not a specialized piece, I don't care. Went to Ace, got what I needed and went on with my install.

But to OP's point, it doesn't make it right. It just makes it easy to solve and move on with my day as I have more important shit to worry about.

Think I will throw this out there too, I bought a set of their "step-sliders" when they first came out (2014). I had zero hardware issues, everything was packaged and shipped wonderfully, install was clean.

About two years ago I started to notice puckering under the powder coat (I would expect this on or next too a rock chip or an impact zone, none of that), yep ugh rust. This leads me to believe they didn't do good prep before they were powder coated. I have had quite a few things powder coated and in harsher elements than this truck has been through. Just thought I'd share a long-term experience. Apart from that these have held up really well. Of course, not looking forward to pulling them off and bead blasting them, messy work.

I used to not mind running to the hardware store for a nut or bolt or 2.
Now, since we moved, the hardware store is 20 miles away. This entails a "trip to town" and is nearly an all day event.
I now have a fastener stash rivaling the store.
Almost have my blacksmithing shop done and will be able to make my own if need be.

For the price he paid for it, he shouldn't need to buy any additional parts on his own. Besides, if he's missing the welded nut it'll be a pain to mount it.

Can't believe (some) people are expecting the OP to go get hardware from a store when its industry standard to have the specific hardware included when purchasing rock sliders haha. In due time, I'll be looking to purchase sliders for my Runner. Unless the company explicitly says that they don't include hardware, I'm expecting everything that I need to be in that box(es) shipped to my address. I know who I won't consider when I'm finally in the market.

different mindset. its annoying they didnt provide the hardware, but i'm in the project i'm gonna finish it. also he shouldve checked/had someone check the package to make sure everything was there. not wait 2 months.
