That's exactly what I did. Made them flush with the frame or how ever I could to get them out of the way.
Just a heads up though, they rust really bad. You can coat them somehow if you want. I wish I would have had I known they would.
Thanks.

Thanks in advance for any/all help!
There are typically 2 types of sliders: weld-on (permanent installation) and bolt-on (removable installation). I'd personally prefer bolt-on with as many attachments as possible.
Can I get by without completely removing the gas tank skid to mount the driver side slider?
Just drop the driver side bolts and strap bolt that holds the gas tank?
These things are a ***** to put on!!!
Hind sight being 20/20 I wouldn't have ordered these if I knew they were such a pita to install.
Tooks 2 days to get the passenger side on. Longer bolts are the key. The bolts they provide are too short.
Painting them black they just flaked off LOL.
I got them on there. Still need borrow a bigger drill for the 4 holes.
Longer bolts and a bright shop light made the stick nuts a lot easier.
Plan to cut the sticks off or push them into the holes and replace the plugs.
