Just got back home to Seattle after buying and building my 2015 TEP w/KDSS in Denver. It's been a little chaotic as I only had 6 days to get everything done, but it was well worth it in the end! For those that were not aware (probably 99% of the people on this forum), I wasn't a 4Runner owner until last 8 days ago, but I had joined this T4R during my deployment 8 months ago. Prior to deploying, I sold my 2008 Honda CR-V and decided on upgrading to something a little less soccer mom(esque). Once I committed to getting a 4Runner (it didn't take much convincing), the research and parts shopping began! Fortunately as a single officer in the military, I had a fair amount of extra money to spend, which is why I kinda went overboard with all the parts. I figured I would get it all out of my system and do all the mods/upgrades all at once and be done with it. But in reality, this is just the start, haha. My next mods are exhaust and a supercharger (whenever it is released) and some sort of bracket to secure my powertank in the rear. Anyways, enough with the talking...

First, I'll start with a list of all the parts/upgrades:
-Shrockworks front bumper/skids/sliders
-CBI rear bumper with tire carrier
-Warn 9.5 XP winch
-Gobi rack with ladder
-Rigid E2 40' light bar and Rigid Dually floods in the rear bumper
-6.7" VisionX LED light cannons
-Koning Countersteer Type X wheels
-Nitto Exo Grappler tires in 285/70/17
-Toytec Boss lift with Light Racing UCA's and Billstein remote resi shocks 5165's in the rear
-Morimoto LED fog lights and HID headlights
-Bussman fuse box/relay switch
-Premium Precision LED kit for the interior
-Weathertech mats
-Pelfreybuilt group 31 battery cage and battery
-OEM style Air on Board push switches for the lights

Thanks to all the guys who helped me out on here and for the inspiration! If anyone has any installation questions or request for pics, I'll post them up! Overall, the build went pretty well, but the Skrockworks sliders gave us a little trouble with the bolt holes.

New mods

Finally got around to installing some new mods on this thing. I just put in a TRD CAI. Other than some very minor issues with cable ties (directions for the cable ties don't really work for the 2014+ models), the directions were straight forward and it fits perfectly. I don't know if there is any gain in performance, but it definitely sounds (and looks) better than the stock intake!



Tomorrow I'm putting in my Magnaflow exhaust.

Now some new mods that are coming up:

Re-gearing to 4.88 and adding 34" tires
Body mount chop
Tapui roof tent
ARB drawer system with fridge
Icon stage 6 suspension

So it's been quite a while since I've updated my build, and this is just the start of many more mods to come. I've been in Korea since August 2015, but I continue to keeping buying new mods to throw on! I even made it FJ Summit last July!

Anyways, I first decided to upgrade the audio system. My plan was to keep the original head unit and just upgrade the speakers, but that did not last long. I ended up getting the following components:

Sub - JL Audio 8W3v3-4
Front speakers - Focal IS 690TOY
Rear door speakers - Hertz Audio DCX 165.3
Head unit - Kenwood Excelon DNX893S
Amp - JL Audio JX400/4D

The head unit is fully inetgrated with the idatalink maestro system, which was also installed.

I got the Metra dash kit as well, but the silver color looked like crap. I considered painting just the dash piece, but then thought it would clash with the rest of the paint scheme. So, the shop suggested we paint all of it!

Here they are being painted matte black (they already had been primed before this):

I also had the front and rear doors dynmatted:

I wasn't sure what to do with the sub, but when RSG Offroad said they could do a custom sub box storage area in the right rear, I was sold.

Very impressed with the build quality and it totally looks factory! I had my brother-in-law pick up the 4Runner and asked to take some pics, and he didn't even realize that was the sub tucked away!

Some other random mods that were completed:
-Re-gear to 4.56
-Installed ditch lights with CBI brackets and Rigid D2 Driving LEDs
-Installed Rigid Duallys on the back of the Gobi rack
-Installed sPOD with touchscreen controller
-Installed a Cobra C75 WX CB radio and mounted the antenna on the left of the liftgate
-Installed a Compustar Pro T11 remote start and security system with Drone Mobile
-Installed a Blackvue DR650GW front and rear dash can
-Picked up a CBI fuel can carrier and installed a Kenwood back up cam on it
-Installed a ram mount on the center console to hold a small tablet
-Picked up a Gobi shovel/tool mount for the roof rack and got a Crazy Beaver shovel
-Finally completed a BMC

Nextbatch of mods that are planned are:
-Goose Gear drawer system with slide out kitchen/fridge
-DC Power alternator
-Onboard air
-Safari snorkel

And lastly, I'm likely to do a LT setup similar as to what [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] has! I'm still considering a SAS, but I'm definitely leaning towards the LT option.

So far very happy with how things are turning out, but I wish I was back in the states to enjoy it more! Please feel free to comment or ask questions!
