shuts off when started

hey i was wondering if anyone new what could be wrong with my 4runner i turn it on and drive down the block to the stop sign and when i get there it wants to die unless press the gas my rpms go up and down from less then 1000 to 500 why does it do this? can it be cuz of my pcv? it needs to be changed....but it doesnt do it if you drive for a while its an 1994 v6 3.0 4x4 fixed it cleaned the maf sensor and it didnt do it again thanks

Nope, CSI only works while cranking.
Unless it sticking open or leaking, in which case it probably would do it more than just when cold.

Throttle body, yes, afm, probably not.
There are numerous other things that can cause this as well, but cleaning out the throttle body, and therefore the idle air control valve, is a cheap and easy place to start.
