Sicily Island November 1-3

Made a trip over to Sicily Island to run the trails w/ some of the good folks from Tacoma world. I saw the link late, but they still graciously allowed my wife and I to join up. Younger guys, they put their trucks through some hard trails. It was an education!

Looks like a fun (if not a little muddy maybe) trip David! I see what you mean about some guys flogging their trucks though. How one wedges their Tacoma 1 wheel in the air down a ditch like that guy in the early pics and still appear to have a good time is beyond me! I'd be mad heated at the entire world!

Roger (black truck driver) is a cool customer and never really let it bother him. When he got the truck out the only damage (from that episode) was a cracked window visor. A lot of the mud you see on the trucks was from deliberately running the mud pits - you'll notice my white tacoma isn't that dirty as I stayed out of the pits...

The trails were muddy because it had rained recently, but most of the areas have some rocks on the trails, so there isn't a lot of "mudding" on the the trails. The exception was the 1st trail we ran Sat am. Roger was lead scout on that trail also and one of the low spots turned into a bottomless pit and swallowed the front of his truck. When he winched across, the back bumper (the only piece on his truck that isn't armored) caught on a log under the mud and got bent. Again, he shrugged it off and helped us cut a detour path so the rest of the group could get through.
