Sick of round pipe Bull Bars!!!

Ive looked all over the web. Wanting a bull bar thats made from angled/trapezoidal pipe. I know they gotta exist out there somewhere. With the lines on our 4R's I think that's a better application. Hmm.... i may send shrockworks an email, this has some merit. Actually.... yep, im gonna do that.

I emailed them 2 hours ago and they already responded. They stated they have the mounts for the tacoma but will check on the 4runner and get back to me in a few days.

I will keep everyone posted as to their response.

yes, they have the Tacoma bar. If you haven't seen what it looks like installed, here's a pic that I think comes from their Google+ page.

Is there any spec on it? Like how far it sticks out in the front? I park in the garage I'm hoping it will fit.

Spyder Update

Hey Guys,

I was emailing back and forth with Josh over at Spyder Industries today. He's working on getting over to the dealer to take a look at a 4Runner for fit/mock up. I'm about a 2.5 hour drive from their shop one way and may be heading out there this weekend for a tubing trip and swinging in, so if he doesn't get over there I told him he could use mine if needed though I'm not sure if I'm heading out there yet. When he gets it done, he said it will run about the same price as the other model bull bars (about $660 before shipping). For those of you looking to fancy it up even more (i.e. possibly me) the lower light bracket on the underside of the hoop will accommodate a 20" E-Series Light Bar from Rigid Industries.

EDIT: Forgot to add. The two lower lights on the bars you've seen in pics are 6" rounds (size of a PIAA 520 for reference) and the bigger ones on the upper part of the bar are 8" rounds.

Pic with E-Series

Here's a pic with the 20" E-series light bar for reference. I know it's on an F-150. Looks like I'm probably driving out to his shop Monday to let him use my truck as a reference since he doesn't have a 5th gen available. If he gets something put together I'll take pics and post em up.

I'd like to see a whole grille guard. A bull bar is kind of useless unless you hit a moose/deer/wolf/coyote head-on.


I've tried to encourage wildlife to stand only in the middle of the road (or leap there, without warning), but they haven't listened yet.

Some Mock Ups

So I had a day off and I enjoy exploring Washington, so I made the trip over to the Spyder Industries Shop today. Great shop with a great group of guys. Josh is awesome and helped measure out the truck for both sliders and bull bar. We took a bull bar and lined it up so we could get an idea (see pics sorry it's not perfectly level). They need to fab up a bracket in order to accommodate the wider body mounts in the front of the 4R before they're ready for production but he got the specs from my truck. Also, for install, the lower air dam will have to be removed (I believe Antman did this mod and may have a write up for it). It's just the matte plastic underneath the glossy painted parts of the bumper held by a couple screws (for us noob types, also only applies to SR5 and LTDs since trails have a bunch of matte plastic on the trim).

OK, enough talking, here's why you really are looking at this (oh and you can see my first "mod" with my plates ). P.S. I think it will look even better once the chrome is blacked out and an HID mod.
