Side Mirror Options

Hi guys,

I have black mirrors on my white 2006 4Runner and I've been thinking of going with white. My existing mirrors are in great shape, just a bit faded from a decade of use.

I found that Toyota sells body colored side mirrors but they are about $220 per side, which seems steep to me.

I could remove, sand, and paint them but that's a lot of work.

I placed a wanted ad in the classifieds section for a pair of white take-offs. But in the meantime I wanted to know if you guys know of any other options?

Like does any aftermarket company out there perhaps make white ones?

Just interested in seeing what all my options are. Thanks!

Sand it and paint it white yourself????

If you dont want to do the labor yourself, just send it to a paint shop. Should not cost more than $150 max for color matching you side mirrors

I spent 30 on sem color match paint. Came out great. Check out my build thread.

Or search the junk yards for a wrecked sport/limited white runner.

I've heard 5th gen mirrors can bolt on to the arms. You get puddle lights, side turn signals and heated glass with them.

Is this right? If that's the case, that would be a good option.

Do you mean that the 5th gen mirror assembly actually bolts to the door or only to the 4th gen arms that stick out of the door (held to the door by 3 bolts and the mirror pivots on the arms).

Has anyone swapped 5th gen side mirrors onto a 4th gen? Would like to see pics.

It uses existing mirror arm and the 5th gen mirror housing bits. I haven't done it or seen it, and I have no idea what the differences or similarities between the taco and 4runner mirror assemblies are, but I don't know why it would be referenced here if it was not possible.
