Such a shame
It is such a shame when these things could have been avoided if the other driver had the sense to just go past the exit and turn around at the next exit... At most they lose a little gas, a little time -- the accident is just sooo not worth it.
BTW, What were you towing? (RV, empty/loaded trailer, boat?) How did your truck handle during the entanglement? I would probably be so focused to keep the 4runner going straight and slowing it down because one certainly does not want to have the trailer create a worse accident. Does yours have side airbags? I was just thinking that kind of impact shouldn't set off the side air bags -- but I saw a youtube/autoblog video of a fairly new camaro drifting (and doing generally things not generally condoned with side airbags online), and its side airbags deployed with motions that one generally didn't think would deploy them. I wanted to ask whether you had to fight your own trailer in addition to what is undoubtedly a massively weight coming pushing from your left.
Do you have pictures of the "Offender's Vehicle?" I guess I'm just nosy to see what the damage on the other side..
I hope your insurance company take good care of you -- and get you something good to drive while this works itself out. I think it hurts more when I see a white 4runner violated like that...
