Silencing the exhaust

The drone is killing me. I suppose this is a sign of growing older but I need to quiet down the exhaust in the cab.

So I have the 2.7 3rz running cai up front with LCE header, high flow cat, and a 22" MagnaFlow on 2.5 pipe. This is not a muffler war. I just need suggestions on where to slap the sound deadening panels so that I can kill a little noise. I have 7 Sq ft panels left so I can't very well plaster them everywhere. I know there are quieter mufflers out there but I really don't feel like redoing my exhaust at this time.

Next time I'm pretty sure a borla turbo style muffler will get installed.

Sound deadener only kills the resonance of the panel it's stuck to, it does a very poor job of insulating the sound from the outside, 7 sqaure feet stuck anywhere will do basically nothing to help with exhaust drone.
 
You'd might as well get to the problem at its source rather than try to cover it up with sound deadening. Walker Quietflow is a good aftermarket muffler option that comes in stainless steel.
 
Briansd I think hit the nail on the head as it were. I think I would have to play with the setup of my own cat - back system to fit it in but I will work towards finding the resonator from a tundra. Last thing I want to do is choke my exhaust by putting a stock muffler on.

I will take a look at the walker exhaust too. I love the sound when I downshift and when I get to wot but that drone has got to go lol. I appreciate all of the ideas and thoughts. I will probably end up slapping the sound deadening on just to patch things up but in the end I will re-do the exhaust.
 
We have been using glasspacks for resonators for years. Turn them around backwards and you will be surprised at how the drone is gone and the deeper and more rich tone they give using them with the rest of your exhaust.

Tell me more. Where do you put it?

Just make sure to put it in backwards. If you don't it might cause a harsher sound at a different rpm. My buddy lost less that 1 hp when he dynoed.

I'm not too concerned about the dyno till I do a cam set and install the piggyback controller but 1 hp will not kill anyone lol.

FWIW I did the panels today and it helped slightly if at all. I do still have to do the rubberized undercoating and I am pretty sure that will have the same results as well.

Update*

Undercoating didn't do squat but make me really messy and seal the underside of my runner. I will be looking at the exhaust fix here soon.
 
They sell the glass packs at auto parts stores too for around the same price. They also have the quick clamps for exhaust too.
