Skid plate location

I bought this 2003 4Runner Limited and the lady I bought it from gave me 2 skid plates. She said she did not put them back on because it made changing the oil difficult.

I think I would like to put them back on but I cant figure out the placement and I am not sure if she gave me the correct bolts for them.

If I know where they are to be placed I can figure out the bolt issue.

Can someone tell me or give a picture of where these go?

Look under where your oil filter is, your skid plate will cover that area. 2 bolts in the front of the plate (front bumper), and 2 bolts near the oil drain plug area.

If not to much trouble a picture would help. I tried bolting it to the holes where it looked like it belonged but the holes did not align.

The front skid has two hooks in the front that let it hang without falling. They fit in the two holes on the front, vertical face of the cross member directly under the radiator. Once the hooks are in, the skid will pivot up into place and the holes should be very close to aligned. If not, the skid could be bent and you'll have to bend it enough to get a hole started. The skids are light duty so once you get it reasonably close, you can bend it into place a hole at a time.

I found this pic of my skids lined up. Top is front. If these will go on, just about any will.

Excellent. I had the 2 hooks in the holes but one of the bolts did not line up. It wasclose so I will get an alignment tool and wack it a few times. I was not sure I had it correct and I did not want to force it if it was not correct. Now I know better.

Do yourself a favor and upgrade the skids. If you will not be doing much serious off-roading check Man-A-Fre.com.

On another topic, I see you upgraded your stereo system but kept the 10 speaker system. I am reading that the 10 speaker set up is overkill. Did you put component speakers in front and rear?

I am working on replacint the JBL now and not sure what direction to take with speakers.
