Skid plate selection assistance

I hate these kinds of threads, but I'm overwhelmed shopping for skids right now and after hours of searching on here and Google have barely made any headway. Absent a consolidated thread like we have for sliders and front bumpers, could you guys help me if you know of any skid plate packages that meet the following criteria?

1. Aluminum (weight savings, salty climate)
2. Does not need to be removed for oil changes
3. Reinforced where necessary for #2

So far, I've only been able to track down Budbuilt and RCI for the above, and it seems like RCI isn't as good for #3. Am I missing any other brands or options?

Thanks guys. Like I said, I hate making "help me shop threads," but I've been banging my head against a wall on this for the evening and thought it would be worth checking here. :frusty:

Hefty Fabworks also makes a full set of aluminum skids as well as bumpers.
Store - Hefty Fabworks

Just as an aside...I love my RCI aluminum skids.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I found that thread very helpful in particular.

Looks like I'm going with BudBuilts. :)
DreadPirateMoyer Just out of curiosity, why are you going with Buds? Based on that thread, it seemed like RCI came out on top.

I'm putting together a list myself and I was thinking of going RCI. I'd like to hear what swayed you to Buds

I liked Bud's coverage slightly more, as well as the reinforcements near the oil doors. Otherwise, they were very competitive. :)

Any specific use? Actual bashing or more of a just-in-case/ peace of mind deal? In my case went with the TRD aluminum skid after I bashed the stock one, looks better than aftermarket aluminum skids and I don't need any more protection than what it offers.. You could probably get a good deal on one hunting around here or the FJ forums too.

Budbuilt

I have Budbuilt 3/8 inch steel. I wheel my truck and they are scarred up. I recommend Bud's skids because steel is tough. He also has a thinner steel version that is the "overland" version. My skids do not come off for an oil change. If you want pics or have other questions feel free to PM me.

BUDBUILT is my first and only choice for a few reasons

They have saved me multiple times in the past

and the owner himself is a heck of a nice guy and takes care of his customers

my 2 cents
