Sliders and mud flaps

What's the best option for sliders,I want some paint protection like maybe welding some plate in between the tubes or adding mudflaps of some sort or both.
What's the best option to keep the paint and body looking good.

There are a few sliders that you can get with plate already welded in. I got 4x sliders cause of the price and really like them!
