Sliders from White-knuckle Off Road

I installed my white knuckle sliders today. Took about 4 and a half hours altogether. I spent about half an hour taking off the running boards, then the passenger side slider went on in about an hour. The driver's side was a different story.
There were a couple tricky parts to getting the driver's side slider on. First obstacle was getting the rear u-bolt onto the frame. I struggled with that for a while and finally got it on, but when it slid on it was in front of a large weld in the frame about 15 inches from the end of the rocker, it needs to be 12 inches from the end of the rocker and it won't fit over the weld. I then struggled with getting it back off. I dropped the gas tank skid half an inch to give a little more wiggle room. I think that helped and eventually I got it back off. All told that was about an hour. Took a break for lunch.
When I came back out after lunch the rear u-bolt slide into place in about 5 minutes. It's like one of those blacksmith puzzles with the rings and chains if you've ever done one of those. Eventually you start to get a feel for how to maneuver those u-bolts into place.
Once all the u-bolts were on, the next trick was getting the slider onto the rear u-bolt. There isn't a lot of room to move that rear u-bolt back and forth and the upper brace on the slider bumps into the rocker panel. After a bit of fiddling with the jack stands and floor jack I managed to get enough room to get that one on.
The last obstacle was getting the washers and nut onto the top position of the front driver side u-bolt. There is just enough room to fit the washers and nut between the rocker and frame. You have to get the weight onto the floor jack just right so that you can slide the u-bolt easily back and forth. Get the washers onto the bolt, then slide it back a bit so you can fit the nut in there, then push the bolt back forward again until you get get the threads started. I dropped the washers and nut about 15 times before I finally got the nut started. There were many four letter words uttered.
One other tip is that I found it easier to get the top rear nut tightened on both the driver and passenger side by removing the brake line mount from the side of the frame (fifth pic).
Tools used were a 3/4 inch gear wrench, axel stands and a floor jack. The 3/4 inch sockets stayed in the toolbox, there isn't a lot of room in there to use them. A half inch socket is needed for the brake line, skid plate and running boards. A flat head screwdriver is handy for removing the hard line clip from the top of the frame (second pic) and bending the brake line mount so it doesn't rub the slider ( both explained in the white knuckle instructions.)
Altogether a little longer than expected, but they look great. John and Natalie were really responsive when I had a couple questions and contacted me to see if I wanted the angle adjusted (to make it more running-boardish) since I had the top plates. Looking forward to scratching them up, time for a beer!

Well, I finally got tired of playing around with the PowerSteps that I have had since the 4Runner was only two months old. Now 4yrs 6months later . . .
Installed White-Knuckle Sliders. John was real easy to work with. The Sliders themselves look fantastic. John and crew modified the sliders to fit my needs. Since my wife is only 4'11 and I have Icon stage 2 and 285 Toyos, they adjusted the sliders down. Since I don't anticipate any major rock crawling (except by accident) this set should do fine for some time to come.
