check the length

Just ordered a set of these DIY sliders, cant beat the price even if I have to pay someone to weld them on!

I remember the TG 58' sliders being just short of full length on a 3rd gen so they may be even shorter for the 120" wheelbase on a 4th gen.

You can buy the longer version of same sliders off the TG site for just a bit more $$$ BTW...

They have a "check fitment" link, did you not even check to see if they would fit before ordering??

Actually YES I did, for you information. Technically they will, since they are weld on. But they would be a little short. Whats the reason for your post??

Because you seemed surprised when told they would be too short for a 4th Gen, I went to the site you linked and did check the fitment and it said they wouldn't fit a 4th Gen.

I wasn't attacking you it just seemed from what was posted that you didn't check the fitment, sorry if I offended you, but I can only read what is posted!!

I would suggest that you don't wear your heart on your sleeve and don't get offended so easily, sometimes what is posted seems to be an attack when it isn't.

What do you need to do to prep these for install - primer and paint? any suggestions of what to use? is the truck bed liner a better choice?

Compared to the $550+ for the prepped sliders, these seem like a good deal.

If for whatever reason those don't work out for you 4xinnovations has some for like 10 dollars more. Just figured I'd throw it out there...

1990 - 2013 Toyota 4Runner Off Road Rock Slider

Thanks for the info. I ended up cancelling the order. The sliders need to be around 68" to cover/protect the entire rocker sill on the gen 4. So Im still searching for a cost effective solution.
Ive posted a few times but never get an answer,"if gen 5 sliders will fit a gen 4?" I believe the distance between the mounting holes line up ,just not sure about the angle or distance from the mount.

The ones from 4xinnovations are like the same price, they come as a 66" length, but they make many different lengths and I'm sure would be able to help you out with whatever.
