Sliding cargo tray on SR5

So, working out an order on an SR5 with the dealer and he is telling me the sliding tray is not available on an SR5. Toyota website, product guide and every other reference says it is. What gives?

Where are you located? There are 12 separate Toyota sales regions and some are privately owned and only order what they think will sell in their region and pretend like that's all that's available.Hard for them to special order one now as all 2012's have been built already.

Like here in the Gulf States region in 2010 they ordered no 3rd row 4Runners and acted like they didn't exist . Another of their stories was that KDSS TE's only came with the JBL Nav as it was needed for the KDSS.

Like Harper says, their region might not order any with that option .... also just as likely they want to sell what they have, and hope their BS dissuades you from looking around. Many Forum members have traveled some distances to get the features they want.

I am in Dallas, Gulf States also. I figured that was the case, they said they checked other regions and there wasn't a single SR5 with the sliding deck option and that it is not a port installed option. Just have to find one that will order a '13 I guess. thanks

I too wanted the sliding rear cargo tray rather than the 3rd row seat. I am in DFW and had to wait about 6-7 weeks before my dealer could get his hands on one exactly as I wanted (see specs below). The problem, according to the dealer, was the combination of alum running boards and the sliding rear cargo tray...I didn't really believe it but that was his story. Said the sliding rear tray was usually packaged with the auto RB which I did not want. Anyway, they finally ended up trading with a Houston dealership to get my vehicle...so I would suggest you hang with it and get what you want.

BTW my salesman was great to work with and was the only one of about 4-5 at different dealerships who actually knew the options and specs of the 4R. Some of the dip****s seemed to just make things up as they went along...just by doing a little research on the internet I knew more about the 4R than they did.
