Smallfrye's 2010 Trail Edition Build

After looking around at skid plates from Budbuilt, Shrockworks and RCI I went ahead and order a new set of aluminum skid plates from RCI to try and keep weight down but still offer protection. Got the filler piece, engine and transmission skid for the time being.

Out with the old (that's not oil on skid but PB Blaster)

Undercarriage photo and yes I know I'm missing a bolt. Whoever worked on the truck previous broke the bolt head off and know I got to find a good way to remove it.

Finally, got the OPOR sliders installed this afternoon took me a little over two hours to install them by myself. Wasn't too bad with the help of two jack stands and not having to deal with a KDSS equipped 4runner.

I think it was something like 2 weeks between the time I ordered them and being delivered.

Tried out crawl control while out at Rattlesnake Canyon (about step on one actually) and good heavens it sounds like something is going to explode. Think I'll just stick with 4lo and 1st gear.

I'm leaving it as is. It's aluminum so no need to worry about rust.

Opps, minor body damage from Top of the World in Moab. Should be an easy fix.

On the only 4x4 trail within Arches National Park - I need a little more suspension travel I think.

My husband and I go to Moab every year. You should check out the 7 Mile Rim trail, it winds you back up and in between two buttes (Monitor & Merrimac), if you don't like sittin sideways on slick rock though turn back after the buttes (also don't go to the left once you get behind the butte otherwise you have to go up Wipeout Hill - I wouldn't recommend it without a partner at the top and a winch) and head back along one of the other dirt roads towards Determination Towers. Tusher Tunnel is back up in that area too and that's a really cool place to go.
