Smog pump and valves...

Well, the pump finally gave out, valves are throwing codes and it put the 4Runner in to "limp mode". It's like dropping a 3cyl engine in a 1ton truck. Drives fine around town, but SUCKS on hwy. Shop says $3k to fix, but medical bills are killing me so I don't have the $ to get it fixed.

Any new developments on the issue with the system being recalled on our 4runners since it was in the same exact engine on sequoia and tundras? The shop even said they have repaired a ton of them, and knew the recall issue on the other models with this V8.

Just get the kit from [MENTION=8828]slyfox75[/MENTION] and block off the valves (you will have to block them off since you waited to install the kit until after it failed). Under $100 and you done for life with the issue.

I remember a year or so ago reading about the bypass kit but thought the system had to actually be working correctly for it to do its thing?
