Smoking engine and a squeak

Hi all,

Have a '94 V6, little bit of an oil leak. Not 100% where it is coming from, think possibly the top valves or rear main. But recently there has been smoke coming out of the hood, is this probably just the leaked oil burning off or should I be more concerned?

Secondly if the A/C is on whilst driving, every now and again there will be a squeak. It sounds like the front left wheel but only occurs when A/C is on so couldn't be that. Thoughts?

I would address it or check your oil religiously.

Would it be an easy fix? I won't have the truck longer than the year, so if it is going to be a big or expensive task it might just be easier to monitor the oil and keep it topped up.

It doesn't matter how easy it is, anything that causes smoke from under the hood is bad enough that you should fix it. Smoke is the thing that happens immediately before fire.

Not to mention breathing burning petroleum products for a prolonged time.
