Snapped bolt extraction ideas?

I snapped off a bolt the other day installing my rear bumpstops. Just wondering what techniques everyone's used and what works. I did a little searching and came across the left-handed drill bit technique and screw extractor. I don't have access to a welder so welding a nut on isn't an option so lemme know if there's any other techniques you've used successfully.

Is the head sheared off?

I just fixed this today lol it sucks
 
Could try a screw extractor. Might just have to drill and re-tap it though. Either way, if you can't weld onto it you'll have to drill it.
 
IME, screw extractors suck. You're going to want to give it a couple days of regular PB Blast or Kroil treatment, then some heat, then grab it with a set of vice grips if you can or cut a slot in top for a screwdriver or find some other way of getting ahold of it (get a hobby welder and learn to use it!), and hope it backs out. Your last resort will be to drill the entire thing out and helicoil it or retap it for a bigger bolt.
 
Here's a pic of what's left. The good thing is, it happened tightening it down so it shouldn't take too much to get it to back out. Or at least that's my theory haha

i would see if there is enough to get a grip on with some vice grips first. if that does not work i would get a Screw Extractor from home depot

I've tried getting the vice grips on it, it just mangles up the bolt. I plan on trying again though
 
I would put some kind of lube on bolt thread then knock the bolt once like u were screwing it in. Then I would try to knock it opposite to take it out. Before anything, get your self a chisel and knock a notch on the bolt to use as a chiselling point. If all else fails, bring out the drill and drill it out, or weld on something.
 
With a grinder and a cutting wheel, carefully cut a slot for a large flat blade screwdriver into the section where the head sheared off the bolt.

2 things will make the bolt spin much easier, 1 if you heat the bolt with map gas, and rub a candle on it the wax will penetrate the threads and spin easier.

2. apply a 50/50 mixture of acetone/ATF fluid to the area, do this a few times and let it penetrate, then try the grinder/flat driver method or vise grip thingy.

Not even close. I conducted torque tests, atf/acetone worked best. PB is no better then wd40. Never tried kroil. candle and heat works wonders.
But, too each is own.

When I first got my '85 the lug nuts were rusted on by ocean spray, bad enough that I twisted several studs off the rear. PB Blast loosed the passenger front after two days. I tried ATF/acetone on the drivers front for four days until I gave up and hit it with PB Blast, and it was free the next day.

Until somebody does comes up with scientifically rigorous test showing otherwise, I like PB Blast.

ATF/ACETONE was the only thing that worked on the control arm bolts on the dodge ram 2500 i got from salt lake city.

again, too each is own.
