I heard that too but never got any real confirmation of it, just what people have guessed. Yes it probably what they are used for , but a also feel why would Toyota build a truck/suv with this type of off road capability without having hook up points . Also there are only 2 in front and 1 in back to where I think if they wanted secure points used for shipping only there would be one at each corner. Or they can tie up to the frame without having the cost of putting loops on . The back 1 loop looks slightly heavier than the front 2.
