Snorkel

Quick update, airflow americas website is now back up and running. And I found this on another website. 5th Generation 4Runner Snorkel | Expeditioneers

I'm going to bump this, so what ever happened to that snorkel? lol.

I was just looking through Javelin's build thread, he said he used a 00-04 tacoma snorkel and it fits pretty well. I wonder if that would work, obviously it wouldn't be a perfect fit.

I'm bringing this thread back, I'm on a pursuit to get one fitted.

Right now its down to two tacoma models. Might have to do some slight modifications, but I think one of them will work.

Javelin's 4th gen had the 00-04 safari snorkel

Yes Andrew I'm liking this!

Internal is an option. I noticed this when having my windscreen replaced. On the passengers side of the truck under the plastic grill vent (between the bottom windshield and the hood) there is space for some internal plumbing for the snorkel. I have to agree with intruder I much prefer the look of the one on the 3rd Gen. where they have internalized the plumbing from the intake to the roof of the snorkel.

How about this one?
5th Gen Snorkel

That guy on CT4WD stole my avatar! Oh wait...

I think nobody is willing to take one for the team on that. It's pretty pricey and way too shiny (if you look at their site they have one on a black truck and the snorkel reflects as much as the truck does). I'm not willing to spend $600+ on it to try to scuff it up.

I forgot who it was, but I said I'd go in on shipping cause it would cost the same amount to ship 2, but he never responded. I would for sure rhino line it, too glossy for my taste.

I think the comment was "It looks like a giant leech sucking the life from my truck" or something to that effect. Also IIRC the shipping quote was unrealistic (+$600 for everything).

The shipping quote was for 1 or 2 (same price whether you ordered one or two snorkels, but not 3).

So if someone ordered two they could halve the total cost and try to sell the other one.

If I wasn't across the border from you I'd be tempted to split it.

Hah, according to Google maps it's only a 27 hour drive from Calgary to STL.

lol, how bout I just ship it to the tip of North Dakota hahaha

If anyone is interested in that snorkel from china, I may have a guy that is a carrier that can cut down on the actual shipping price. I'll get more details on it soon.

I think I might just pull the trigger, I don't see any other companies coming out with one. Expeditioneers was the only one that "said" they were trying to get one done, but they invested the time in getting the 05+ tacoma snorkel done first with Airflow America.

Just did a quick photoshop, I'm going to talk to my guy today.

If you move all the air intakes/breathers up high - as high as the lowest hanging piece of electronics. I know there is an ECU of some kind near the spare tire. There might be another that's lower.
