So, do you guys all know about our bumpers?

Damn ok, figured it was worth an ask. My main issue with the tubular bumper is the large gap it seems to leave between the bumper and the tailgate. However, I've never been sure if that's improper installation or just part of the design.

I'm looking more for something that sits flush, or near flush to the tailgate like the factory bumper.

Just remember that you want a little gap there in case you land on it hard. It will deflect into the body if its too close.

Only tube bumpers. Unless you have a 1" body lift. The 84-85 sits 3/4" lower on the frame than the 86+ does.
