So I made a sleeping platform/storage, and I like it.

So I searched through out the Internet, through the threads here, and this is what I came up with.

It's made of 5/8 plywood, and a weatherguard pack rat.

The box is attached to the plywood with countersunk bolts and body washers in the rear. And on the front it attached to a 2x2 that is bolted to nutserts horizontally set into the face of the tool box. The 2x2 also allows an attachment point forward them piano hinges for the flip-able front portions.

The legs for the front portions were made from leftover ply.

I then stapled down some yoga mats for padding, and covered it all in carpet (stapled)

And yes, I can sit on the drawer.

The flip ups allow me access to storage spaces on the sides of the box, and if I don't have a lady friend I usually put my thermarest on one side and leave one side flipped up. (they fold flat when flipped back) I can't sit up anymore, so I use the rear foot well as my changing/sitting area.

*edit- dual flippy parts so I can reach the cooler and grab a barley soda when I get to the trail head, Yet keep it outta site!

Rubicon soon, just got my bumper painted (allpro apex) and winch.

Although the only time I would imagine I would sleep in the truck when flexed out, would be if I was so broke/stuck I would have to just sleep where I am. Well at least I know I could hold out till help arrives!
