So it has begun

It didn't take me long after purchasing my first Runner to look into improving my suspension. Although I was extremely satisfied with my purchase. I was left wanting more from my suspension during several trips. Was planning on doing it soon and then this happened on the way to Borrego Springs, CA.

Ran into my buddy's Land Cruiser on an icy road in Julian. Perhaps it was my fault for following him a little too close but he didn't have to stop in the middle of an icy road when there was a perfectly nice pull out right next to where we collided.

Anyways, We didn't let it stop us from our continuing our trip to "Truck Haven". Here is a buddy's Jeep.

We had a good time but the whole time I was thinking about my front end being ruined.

Good thing I had USAA.

Body shop fixed it in less than a week (USAA is awesome). Told them I didn't need a bumper because I am putting on a Demello 3 Hoop. Had them put on a sport edition hood and limited edition black grill. Didn't cost me much more to do that and then subtract the cost of a bumper.

It will take approx 6-8 weeks before the DO 3 Hoop bumper and Hybrid Sliders are ready for pick up. Mean while I have some work to do.

Just ordered the following:

Icon Extended Travel Front Coilovers and Camburg UCA
Metal Tech Rear Long Travel Susp Package Stage 2
Metal Tech Rear Lower Links
An Engo E9000S Winch for the DO bumper

Also looking at black 16" wheels and a set of new tires but haven't purchased that yet.

Can't wait to install these parts

Opps! At least you had a plan for your bumper, so not real loss unless it did other damage underneath that you had to fork out money for.
It's gonna look great when it's all put together. Looking forward to seeing it!
Oh, and your buddies jeep is bad ass!

I only had to pay $400 for the hood. No deductible because the bumper costs more than $500.

Or you could look at it like I paid a $400 deductible.

Unfortunately the headlights don't match (one new and one old) so I ordered a new one for the left side.

Anybody need an original driver side headlight with some miles on it?

It was a body shop. I'm sure they bought everything new, assembled and painted it. The most expensive part was the liner which was $285. $400 was just the difference after it was all said and done.
