Just a bulb burnt out. Takes like 30 seconds to swap out. One screw behind the little cubby door and then the HVAC panel pops right out.

Not sure on part number. If you want it back to stock just bite the bullet and get an OEM bulb. Aftermarket bulbs are an option but LEDs specifically can be finicky as far as light output since stock bulb is incandescent. And an aftermarket t3 neowedge type bulb would require removing the orange “condom” off the original bulb.

Really? It's that easy? Honestly I didn't realize it was a separate bulb that backlit the screen. I thought it was an all in one. Man that makes me feel much better! thank you!
 
Still wouldn't call it an "easy" replacement. You do have to take the center dash apart... When I changed mine, I did the 2 bulbs in that center display and the 4-5 in the A/C controls. IIRC the bulb pack was like $40 from Toyota to do al of them in that dash area.
