So what did you do on the weekend? We....

went offroading in SoCal....

But first we (well Andries and James actually!) did a Daystar spacer lift on my 04 4x4 Runner (I mostly took pictures and cooked!), in about 3hrs on Thursday night.

It would have taken a lot less time if the boys stopped fighting over tools and the right side coils went back in how they were supposed too!

So here's some photos...more will be posted in the trip reports later, but here's a taster...

Goodness...we had enogh tools for four mechanics (two sets of air tool lines and impact wrenches whats more

On Friday we metup at James place in Pasadena and then the three of us headed out to Big Bear and setup camp for Henry and Roberto at Grey's Campground

Henry at the campsite - we even had two rooms setup - a lounge and dining room.

The crew lined up at the campsite included

5 lifted trucks, 4 with sliders, and one with a rear locker.

Food was important to this trip hence the name Big Bear Braai 05 which in South Africa would mean Big Bear BBQ 05.

So a truely multicultural affair despite the Sth African name.

But on to more relevant things...trail driving...since we only had 4x4's we could take on some more difficult trails so we had an excellent time exploring Gold Mountain on the first day.

Check out the compression on Henry's rig with 3+ inches of lift. Just a little too much acceleration there Henry but effective all the same..

James did an awesome job all weekend as a spotter and tester for each obstacle (lucky man has rear lockers )
