It's not a Toyota.... it's a Jeep:
Sorry Connor, but it's about time you told everyone now. Connor's been unsatisfied with the reliability of his 4runner. He said he really likes working on it, but is mad that he only gets to wrench on it when he's doing regular maintenance or upgrades. He wants a vehicle that will give him something new to fix every other time he takes it out, so he's getting a Jeep. He already made an account on the Jeep forums, "Wrangling Daily."
Or he might have just been talking about the Rubicon trail... who knows.

It's got almost 200k miles right?
I'd challenge anyone to compare the tie rods of a jeep Rubicon with 175k miles to those of a 4runner with the same and still claim the jeep is better.
Those things fall apart far before 175k miles.
BTW I rode in a stock jeep Rubicon out in Hollister and the thing could barely tackle the blue runs. It looked just like the one pictured. I even have videos of it bottoming out on nearly every bump.
The Rubicon package is a scam. I'd rather buy a cheaper wrangler and then throw $3k into a proper set of mods because the factory rubicon package is way overrated.

The Jeeps unreliability is why Connor wants one. He made me promise not to tell anyone this, but one time he said to me, "There's just something erotic about having the wrench in my hand, covered in oil and grease, listening to that nut slowly back off the bolt, knowing that I'm giving this vehicle something it needs. My 4runner just doesn't break down enough to fulfill my needs." I thought it was odd at the time, but hey, who am I to judge.
I agree about the Rubicon package though. I wouldn't bother with it if I ever did buy a Jeep.
Or, there is still the possibility that he was referring to the Rubicon trail and everything I said above is a lie.

Conner's truck breaks down prenty enough to fulfill whatever wrenching needs he may have && to drain his wallet.

My 4Runner and I have a love hate relationship. This motor is running on borrowed time though, I don't trust it at all.

When the time comes you can swap the motor. But yeah I wouldn't dump another $1000 into it if you have coolant issues again.
Awesome! I just hope their labor prices are okay too. Dropping off the rig next week.

Just an idea in my head right now.
Backstory: In my Dad's eyes, there are two iconic trails west of the Mississippi. Black Bear Pass in Colorado and the Rubicon Trail in wonderful California.
Now Black Bear Pass is the reason my license plate is (BBEARPS)
When my Dad first purchased the truck he took it on Black Bear Pass pictured here:
Now, we both want an adventure and we both want to run the Rubicon.
So right now, it's just a thought, but with me leaving for College soon, it needs to happen soon.

I'm not going to dump another $300 into it. If I'm given any reason at all, I'll pull it and swap in a new long block. Next timing belt/water pump job won't be on this current engine.
With full belly skids, front and rear bumpers, sliders, lockers front and rear, and a decent set of tires, the Rubicon shouldn't be too bad. I'm not worried. I was more worried for Johnson Valley and I made it out of there with no damage at all.

This blow's I didn't gain any lift goon from 890's to super flex coils. On the other hand my armor will be ready on Monday

Yes savage full skids saved my ass in Death Valley. I made done nice gouges and bent some mounting bolts. Haha. All replaced and ready for superstition.

Superstition dunes are a blast to ride on both quads And the runner. I went thier on turkey day weekend and pole lane road was flooded.
