is this a good place to find a good 4runner mechanic in orange county? recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Lol I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. The opening comment on this thread says we should make suggestions bc the location hasnt been picked. If you guys want to meet 5 hours up north for the SoCal trip then I'll catch the next one no big deal.

I would be down for a bald mountain run. Ive never been there but i know it a beautiful area.

The Bald Mtn trail which is at Shaver Lake sounds pretty cool. I went there once as a kid.

I think that would need to be a Fri-Sun kind of trip since it is 6.5 hrs from San Diego according to Google maps. Its about 3.5 hours from the bay area (San Jose).

Honestly guys, I was thinking more of an early morning departure and a whole day kind of thing. It's extremely difficult to get a whole weekend off. But if I can't make it, its all good! Updated the first post.

I'm sure you're tired if hearing this but I'm in depending on the dates and location. Need to make sure I can get the time off. And I'm sure my buddy with T4R will join us also. Big bear is a good fun from what I've heard. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. It has hard trails and easy trails. Some don't even require 4x4 so even the 2WD members can join in on the fun.

Since you are coordinating can you pick a spot and dates?

A day run can be done but it would obviously be somewhere close to where you are.

It just came to mind. Johnson Valley. It has it all. Rock, sand ,climbs , dry lake bed, dunes, just went out there this weekend. That's where they do "The King of The Hammers"

I'll be in Colorado until December 1st. I can do any Friday in December though.

It'd be a Saturday or Sunday thing, but for some of us it would be enough of a drive that we would leave a day early.

Let's make it a weekend thing. Have everyone that can make friday only go and we will enjoy the day and whoever can stay for the weekend well make it a weekend trip. I can do either. But a weekend trip would be nice.

It would have to be a weekend for me, and I need to replace one of my transfer case output shaft seals first. I second Red Rock Canyon or Johnson Valley though.

That sounds great. Who ever can go that friday can go, and at the end they can leave and everybody else can stay for the weekend. I like that idea.

Cal city is always fun too. Free camping, Lots of trails to hit up in the mountains. Mines to go explore etc. That's where my friends and i always go camping. We did over 100 miles in the general area for an afternoon one day.
