soft/long pedal after shoe replacement

I just had my rear shoes replaced and the cylinders. Now my brake pedal is soft and travels almost to the floor. Will this fix it self after braking for a while or do I need to take this back to the shop that did the work?

Take it back!

It sounds like they messed up and let a cylinder pop leaking fluid out and letting air into the system.

They need to bleed your brake system of air.

Yes your pedal will feel a little different at first after a brake change but pumping the pedal the first time should fix it. If it doesn't the soft spongy feeling is air in your system.

It's kind a major issue as air expands significantly as it heats and this can cause brakes to lock.

I was just pumping the e brake and heard a pop. Now the e brake has no tension. Crap

call them. see if they'll arrange to have it towed.

I'm back at the shop now. Can't wait to hear the excuse. He said he drove it and it felt fine. I said well so did I and I don't feel safe. It's terrible.

Well after almost an hr they got it right. Said it all needed adjusting. Tight as a drum now.

Sounds like they fixed the issues and didn't admit that they did things wrong the first time.
Glad to head that it's fixed and safe.

Back to your original question, No it would NOT fix itself.
