Software updates on my '03 V8

My dealer has my 4Rner for a few warrenty items and they called an said there was a ECU software update. so they would go ahead and do that as well. Anywone know what the updates fix/change? I didnt; really have any issues.. so i am not sure what Toyota reprogrammed. I do ahve one fo the first 4thGen 4Rnrs... so i am sure they found something they needed to make better. I am use to flashing my Audi... but not my Toyota!

Maybe somebody can find a TSB on the flash? Ask if they've got version numbers for your old ECU program and your new one and we'll find out what's new (hopefully).

Wonder if it fixes the error in the mpg reading?

I know they flash the ECU when doing the sulfur TSB, but I haven't heard them doing it just by itself.

Hmmmm.. they didn;t mention anything about the Sulfar TSB.. but I suppose they might be doing it. I'll find out today when i pick up my Runr.

Turns out they did the sulfar update (without really even asking... that works for me. Actually.. I think my Cat was bad.. so they just did the TSB.

The sulfer update should only have been done if they also replaced your cat with the new part. The old part is still available and in service to. Make sure they swapped your bad cat out with the upgraded part. You can find more information in the sulfer TSB. The PDF is in the TSB thread.
