Sold 4Runner Today- Thanks for all the support...

It has been over 2 years owning my 4Runner.

I just sold it today- it has been bittersweet since then, however the new owner seems to be car enthusiast.

Just want to say thanks for this awesome community, although I didn't get participate as much as I wanted I found a lot of great help and support from you guys.

Special thanks to James aka C.O.B. He didn't even know me and really helped me out through my build. I value and admire people like him who are selfless and overall a good person!

Maybe one day I will be back here, who knows!

Thank you all again I will miss scouring the forum.

I saw the ad on craigslist just a couple days ago. How close did you get close to your asking price?

Thanks for the nice words, it was a pleasure meeting you and being a part of the build!

Do you have a replacement for it already?

I got my asking price...otherwise I would have kept it. It was bittersweet today, I felt like I broke up with my gf after I sold it...haha Driving a Prius now, 45 mpg and gas @ $4.50 really made me rethink as well as my wedding in July convinced me to sell. I listed this thing when I was in NYC on Sunday and sold it within the week. So fast...:confused:

Do you think I got a fair price?
 
Got married .. Sold MR2 ... Sold 4Runner ... Now driving a Prius.


This is the 2nd lamest thing I have heard this weekend.

The first was a conversation between me and a buddy on Saturday at our Coral Canyon run in SD.

Me: Have you watched Season 1 of Archer yet?
Josh: no but I've started watching Downton Abbey, it's exciting.

...

But wait you still have the Supra right? As long as you don't only have a Prius. I have a new CT-200h as DD and 4Runner as my project car.

Sad to see you go man! Oh well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... I understand. Glad that the 4Runner appears to have went to a good home and congrats on the future wedding! Hopefully we'll bump into each other again someday on some forum, or this one?! hahah

HAHAHA well said my friend. Prius is no 4Runner thats for sure, but I had to downsize on toys. Since 4Runner eats up gas and does not help me stay healthy (like my Santa Cruz Tallboy Bike), I decided to let it go. No Supra, that is Hungwin I believe. CT200 is so nice looking, agressive and eco friendly!

Ditto, I wouldnt be surprised if the new owner will be on here shortly. He had a 4cylinder 4Runner when I met him so he knows the history of 3rd gens. Will def keep an eye out to see how your build progresses into as it is top of my list.

You just have to find the right girl if you want to continue your auto obsession and be married.

I had a g/f that accused me of loving my Supra more than her once. My reply was a helpful nudge out of the garage before I shut the door to continue working on my baby. Things ended with her not long after that, but I still have the Supra. :)

lol, I have a good (serious) gf right now and she knows that my t4r is my baby. She often refers to it as my first true love lol.

My GF is pretty awesome, at first she thought I was an idiot for loving my truck so much, now she embraces it and loves to go out exploring with me. Couldnt ask for more.... but the true test is around the corner. I've been starting to look at cars and can see myself getting one within the next year or so. I've pretty much decided on a SC300. I already know it will be getting a JDM 2JZ-GTE swap with a single turbo replacing the twins, and a r154 5spd. My exact words were "You think my 4Runner is bad, wait until I get his car.... it's going really test the limits." hahahah
 
Ha, my Fiance told me she would have dumped me if she knew how into cars I am. I started getting back into working on cars after my daughter was born, so she was stuck...she hates it, but understands that is my hobby. Plus I don't drink, smoke or play video games all the time, so she can't really complain.

I told her just wait till I get a 1st gen. That's when the divorce papers might start to be written...haha
 
People give me a hard time that I don't have a GF or significant other... I always tell them that my rig is my GF...not in a bad way, but something that takes my money and time LOL.

Not the best joke, I know. In all seriousness though, I'm not doing anything to the truck to make it less practical for a spouse and family - I don't want to give them any reason to get rid of it (like if it is too high due to a lift or some other reason) - I've seen far too many guys have to sell their rigs...

I really want to keep mine forever.
