How hard would it be to re-upholster the stealthbox? If the color was gray, I'd jump all over this.

I can't give you a very accurate answer on that. I'm sure JL glues the carpet on pretty well but I'm sure it's possible to rip it off and put on something different. You might want to even try to contact JL and see what they have to say.
