My sister just sold her "72" 351 Mustang she paid 6K for it about 10 years ago and sold it for something like 22K just last month.

must be tough to let go such vehicles especially the ones that gives you that rush. i do feel the same when i sold my civic to make way for the 4Runner.

Sorry to hear that Falls. I had a '98 Cobra vert and an '04 Cobra vert but now I have an '06 GT vert. The '03/'04's are wicked fast even bone stock, and with a few simple mods they are scary fast.

I'm still dissappointed that the new Mustang GTs aren't still as quick as the last gen defunct F-bodies were and are still a 13.7ish car from what I've seen at the strip in showroom trim and the GT begs for the IRS setup. Still a rough car around a roadcourse.

You're '04 Cobra is what I consider fast as easy 12s were awesome with a good driver. 13s just doesn't seem as quick as it did 10 years ago.

I dropped 1.7 seconds off my 1/4 for a $50 boost controller and was edging out C5 Vettes and then I needed a clutch after three passes.

331AWHP@5600rpm on 101 octane/12.4@114mph down in Houston and never opened the motor.

381 passes in 8 seasons,two trannies,3 turbos,race clutch every two seasons

Ok,I'm going to go cry :sobbing:

Falls,441whp through just the rear wheels can be a handful as I got to drive my friend's 431whp Supra and found out and I just don't think I could get use to it since AWD gives you more confidence in the twisties but it would be fun for turning tires into black powder.

Ok,how about some pics of those 'Stangs and maybe an engine shot Falls. I love HP but hard to tell driving a 3rd gen.

That must have been tough to let it go. Hopefully you won't regret it. Do you plan on getting another fast car?

I always need something fast and something practical.

I have had some very fast show condition cars over the years that out of stupidity I have sold.

1969 Roadrunner 440 Max Wedge w/stage III Hemi Heads 4spd
1971 340 Slap Stick Auto Barracuda
1971 340 Duster 4spd
1992 Nissan 300ZX TT BPU++
1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R

I will never sell my Supra though.....have had it 10-years now which is the longest I have ever kept anything.

That sucks getting rid of such a bad ass car. I have a 96 Ram witha 500HP KRC Race Package engine that I havent driven in about 3 years. Put about 8500 bucks into the engine, drove it for a year and put about 5500 miles on the engine, and parked the truck due to issues I'd had with job/life/ and the truck itself. Still sets unused today. Truck is only putting out a fraction of the power it's supposed to due to me getting ass raped on the engine by KRC Performance in Florida. Still a fast ass truck, just nothing like it should be. In mostly stock form it was turning 15.4's in the quarter. Now, nearly ten grand spent, I think I ran a 14.6 last time I had it at the track. Yeah, money well spent :happens:

I've actually had the thought of selling the whole damn truck, but I dont know if I could ever actually do it. I've spent so much time and effort on it in the past ten years it would be like losing a family member. Other option is to scrap that damn boat anchor engine and start over. We'll see.

Know any one that needs some Mopar Magnum engine performance parts??? LOL ;):

15.4s in that Ram stock;it's gotta be under 15 seconds or does it weigh as much as Oprah? ;)

The new Tundra and RAV4 run under 15 seconds which IMO is pretty crazy for stock for the vehicles they are.

Weighs 5200 LBS and was rated at 245 HP stock, not quite as big as Oprah :p . Not exactly a race truck LOL.

Last dyno on my other Ram, the mostly stock one, I was at about 285 Flywheel HP, and about 330 LB FT of Torque at the flywheel if I remember right. It's a single cab and weights in at about 4600 lbs. That was with the 4.10's, headers with duals, no cats, a Trans-Go shift kit, a Level10 Trans rebuild kit with kevlar clutches, and a B&M 28,000 GVW Auxillary trans cooler. Since then I've added some upgraded MSD ignition parts, and a Mopar Performance PCM, so I need to get it on the dyno again and see what it's putting out.

Yes , I will get something else when I figure out what I want . You were right the 03/04's were ungodly fast , driving that car and going into full boost was absolutely insane ........

Not sure , maybe a Vette. I would buy a used 03/04 C5 though. Unless I become ungodly wealthy rich I dont want to take the HUGE hit on buying a new one. I might even get an auto tranny and have a nice fast crusier that I can enjoy , drink a water , yack on the phone , ect..... with out worrying about shifting. Obviously mod with a power pack shift kit though. They are plenty , plenty fast to get tickets in.

well, it is sad to hear you have to sell the HP toy. i feel you. i had a hard time to miss my track/street turbo civic before i got my 4R too.

I drove a friends black Z06 once, it was an 02 model. OMG that was freakin cool!!!

I'd love to have a vette, but with two kids, and being poor, aint gonna happen. I could afford the car, but the insurance would be more than the car itself!!!! :p
