I'm pretty sure they allow the same up travel as any other spring (meaning you can use the stock bumps) so this comment doesn't make sense to me.

I think the 3" heavy coils are a little stiffer without any weight so it takes more to get the up travel? Otherwise I'd say you're correct.
That being said, this is a great deal.
