Solid mechanic Seattle area?

Greetings,
I didn't pass emissions... Usually I work on my truck (93 4runner) with my brother in-law who knows his stuff but he is out of town for a few months and I don't have the time to go into this one myself...
Might be something simple and I could probably spent the $150 and get the waiver but I'm thinking the no pass might have to do with a crack in my intake manifold (I really have no idea though). I'd rather get the problem solved than put a band-aid on it...
Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Seattle area?
I'm not really big on Yelp or searching Google for things like this and I'd like to get a good word of mouth reference for a straight shooting mechanic.

I have had good experiences worth Beacon Automotive. They are in Ballard 5400 block of Shilshole Ave. NW. Good mechanic, very reasonable. He won't do or suggest a bunch of extra fixes either.

Did you post up for local help from another member? Maybe in your gens thread?

Maybe get your truck registered in a county that does not have emissions. Kitsap for example if you have a friend or family that lives over there.

Hey I am Ryan, the one [MENTION=100172]Jim82[/MENTION] mentioned. I have a bunch of extra parts laying around i am willing to part with. they are left over from parting out my other 2nd gen. These include a good intake plenum if thats the part you need. My though for an easy and permanent fix to the crack is you can throw some JB Weld on it. I have done this numerous times to fix some exhaust manifolds so it should work. I may be in des moines all weekend this weekend. Not 100% sure though if its this weekend or next. I have most of all the rest of the emission garbage too. Im in lakewood if you want to come by and see if there is something here you need. As far as diagnostics go and getting to a car to pass emissions im not that good but i don't mind giving you a hand. You can PM me if interested with your number and ill give you a call when i get home from work today.

Hi, this thread is a few years old however I wonder if there'd be any update on good mechanics in Seattle area? I'll be in town for about a week and would likely have a few things to do (notably a wet brake shoe to fix)

I took my 1999 to Arrows Auto in the Industrial District, and it was a little expensive, but they were the only folks available in short notice. Though, probably a bit high in price, I'd recommend them and I don't have any complaints with the repairs so far.
