Interesting rumor. I can see it now...
Me: Um, while you're in there could you go ahead and replace my valve cover gaskets and fuel filter? Maybe the timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires?

It really doesn't matter much to me. I've already spent time cutting out the rust and welding in new plate. Mine was pretty rusted, but not anymore. So it most likely wouldn't qualify anyways. I'd rather not have the dealer swap my frame anyways. All the shit that's going to break when they do it isn't going to be covered.

I'm hesitant to stir this pot and I have no affiliation with this seller... but apparently Toyota just replaced his frame and a bunch of other stuff on his 2002 Tacoma.

called this morning to confirm or deny the rumor, service manager said they are, bring it in so we can confirm. so far so good. stay tuned till next teusday afternoon

Yes please more info about this cause I just called my local dealer and they said there is no frame recall that they know of.

Just got off the phone with Toyota direct and they said it is only for certain vins. I even told them my frame is rusting pretty bad and they said pretty much good luck and Toyota is not going to help with any repair costs. I went around to a bunch of auto body shops and nobody knows of any where that does frame repair.

Go to an off road shop. Any good ones will do the repair. Since mine isn't covered, I'm going to do the repair myself this summer. What number did you call to get your information (800-331-4331)?

Just got off the phone with my local toyota dealer as well and was told that only certain VIN's are getting recalled - mine was not one of them.
