Some lift/tire and front end protection questions...

I'm liking the idea of lifting my 4runner using the Cornfed 3 front and 2 rear features @ jason B's website...installing it is a whole different thing...but one of these days I'd like to do this lift and put some new tires on.... don't want to go huge...but some BFG AT KO 275/70/17...would this be a good choice? I don't want to rub in the wheel wells and I do not plan to go crazy aggressive off roading...but when I do go off roading...I would like my Runner to be prepaird and more than capable for the occassional offroad adventure. My 4Runner SE 06 would be more of a daily driver than it would be an offroad vehicle/toy.

Also...I do like the look of the Sports Trim Bumper that you can add...however after reading some stuff here on the forum about the trim...its just a 500 dollar piece of plastic...so my question: Is there some kind of better...more durable and something that works better with the same looks as the Sports trim bumper? Hopefully something that is bolt on....I was thinking JAOS stuff but didn't see anything that was close to the looks and idea as the sports trim bumper.

any opinions or help would be appreciated.

I do not know about your bumper but as for your tires the bfg's do not come in 275's. If you want 275's you will need to go with a goodyear tire. Most people use their MTR's. The bfg's come in 285's and a lot of people have used those only having to trim a little off of the mud flaps. I am going to try to squeeze some 285's on my 05 sport with the cornfed lift. I will let you know how it works out.

what you have to keep in mind when adding a bar up front that will diminish your approach angle. This is the angle in which you can come in direct contact with an obstacle. More stuff up front means higher chances of hitting something since that piece is now there. Hope that makes sense as I'm just bleh from the holidays

The cornfeds will work nicely on a 05 and the 275's should have minimal rubbing.

but the BFGs don't come in 275...hrm....


and no one seems to make a bull bar type thing that looks like the sports bumper trim?

You might want to take a look at the T&H Euro Bar (think its T&H) it seems to mirror the look of the stock Toyota plastic bar.

thats exactly the one I was eyeing.

plan on it but also will get it color keyed to my titanium silver...would look great!!
