I've about read myself sick up on this topic. I've searched everything thing I can think of, read over 100 pages and posts over and over again. I feel like I read one thing that reinsured me, then I'll read something else that denies my previous answers. So here I am, hoping to find the answer.

I am doing the FJ/bilstein 5100 swap. I have both in my possession. I also have 285/75/16's on TRD wheels that I want to put on my 2005 sr5 v6

Out of everything I have read, in order to fit these I will need about 2.25" - 2.5" lift in the front. I am under the impression that setting the 5100's at the third notch (1.75) will yield about 2" plus 0.5" from the FJ springs giving it approximately 2.5" and I do realize this number varies on the miles on the springs and other factors. And my rear would be lifted approximately 0.5" from the FJ springs.

So if that is the case, I would need a rear spacer in order to keep the runner semi-level.

If someone could please tell me if I'm right, or if I'm completely wrong I will be so grateful. Thanks to everyone!

Some setups lean and some do not...I'm not certain why that is but if you installed your lift with what you have now with the settings as you noted, you may be fine...if anything you'd have slight lean of about 1/2"-3/4"...you can still drive like that but not do any high speed cornering or off-roading...if there's a lean, throw the spacer on...if you're setup doesn't lean...man you're set!

You may just need to throw the lift on and measure...than determine if you move forward with the tires right than or wait and fix the possible lean with the spacer and than throw the tires on...

I'm thinking you are going to need spacers for the rear anyway. I have my bilsteins set at the second notch with FJ springs front and rear and it looks about level. If you go the the third notch on the front you might be (or at least look) nose high.

However, here's the good news. the fronts are the hard part. put in your setup and see how it looks. if you need spacers in the rear, they are pretty easy to install in the rear with the right amount of jacking and such.

as far as lean I have an 07 4wd SR5 with bilsteins and new moog fj springs. the "lean" on my ride is about 1/8". which I can live with.

You are always going to have some kind of lean because you have the driver and the gas tank on the same side.
