My brother in-law offered me 5k for my 91 Toyota pick up 4X4 all around great condition. The money would mostly go into my T4r, lift wheels and tires etc. I'm sentimentally attached to the truck (my dad bought it brand new in 91 and handed it over about 6 years ago). I've put about 3k into it over the six years. I just keep imagining how awesome I could make my 4r look if I sold it. DKWTD

You can always make more money. You can't always get trucks back that you sold. If you like the truck that much, keep it. 5K isn't that much money in the grand scheme of things.

Dude keep it. There was a point when I wanted to sell my 4runner, but I realized that I was retarted. I would never sell my car and I probably wouldn't ever sell my Dad's motorcycle. It just wouldn't happen with something this big. :hello:

I haven't told him yet as I'm still not sure what I'll do. I think he'll be a little bummed, but I don't think he's as attached to it as I am. It's a great truck, I'm just worried that in the long run its just going to become a money pit. I realize 5k is a great offer and will only come once.

If you sell it to him, ask him if you can have 'right of first refusal' if he goes to sell it someday. You probably won't have any legal way to enforce this (without some crazy contract and even if you did, would it be worth it?) but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Well I've decided to keep it. I would rather save up for the lift and other goodies and still keep the truck. It's great to have for many reasons and plus my 4 year old son would be devastated if I got rid of it; he wants it to be his first vehicle! Hopefully the truck lasts that long!

I have to agree with SUNGOD, I had a blue one that was in better shape then that with lower miles (93K)
I payed 7.5K for it back in 2004 and sold it for 4.5K in 2006...
Truck was a a gleaming gem! everyone who looked at it liked it... I even got out of a traffic ticket by impressing the police officer (i knew him but i deserved the ticket
and he also knew it.)
I peeled out and shifted it into second... he said: i didn't think that truck could do that! Im impressed! than he just got in his car and drove away... (I told him I would play nice from then on)
5K is a deal if you if just don't need the truck anymore...then again I regret selling my old 89 I still see her in my home town still truckin away.

When I first got my t4r I was going to sell it because its a gas guzzler, about 3 days later I said I'm not going to sell it. A few months later I was going to sell it, same out come as before then again and I thought, how would I feel without it? My truck is like my own baby, I don't like other people touching her or getting to close, and I'm very anal about how its cleaned, (why I do it myself) and I don't like dirty, sweaty and nasty people touching or getting in it.
It may be a gas guzzler (about 15 MPG on a good day) but its my gas guzzler. Plus who else could find a 03 in great condition with 55k? (It had 55k when I bought it, just rolled 71k tonight. I've had some problems but I still love my truck and wouldn't trade or sell it for anything.

Talonjade: I see your point and you sold your truck for your own reasons. I guess for me I can't really find enough reasons to justify selling mine; while the money would be nice , I don't need it at the moment. I use my truck more than I think I do and and it makes certain jobs so much more convenient than if I didn't have a truck. Its been in the family for almost 22 years and there is a sense of pride in keeping it and taking good care of it. I think I would regret it if I sold it. My brother in-law is a big time farmer and would most likely give it to a worker for farm use; it would be trashed in no time. Who knows.......it would be pretty cool if the truck lasted long enough to hand down to my son for his first vehicle!!
