My '98 has a clean CarFax too. But I can guarantee you it was hit on the left side at some point. Can't rely on CarFax, it's merely a guide. Somebody bangs up their car and fixes it themself instead of going through insurance and a body shop, it won't hit CarFax. (And this one certainly looks to be a home made repair. Even the paint job on the flares and all looks like hell in the pictures. Can only imagine what it looks like in person.
It's not that good of a deal that it's worth dealing with all the headaches that are sure to follow this thing.

I'm 99% positive that 4runner is already on the forums. And the guy had like 6 lights mounted on the front bumper so that would explain the holes. He had a build thread and everything. I just can't remember his user name right now

Ya seeing as he spent $1500 on it, put a bit of money in to it, then wheeled the piss out of it, I'd give him nowhere near $4000 for it. I'd offer $2k, maybe $2.5 if you're feeling froggy. And then feel like doing a lot of work to it.

So...
Obviously the previous 4Runner I posted was a No-Go. I never did hear back from them..... It ended up disappearing from the lot and landed in a town 30 miles away, and reposted for the same asking price. I stayed away.
The good news is, I am finally back in a 4Runner. She's a White 97 LTD, 110k on the clock, and in Very good shape after being garaged for the last 10 years.
$4200 out the door.

Better late than never... I suppose.
Rotors resurfaced, new pads, driver rear axle seal, and new shoes: 285/75/R16's. No lift. :cheers:

Yes I believe they were. I'm still kicking myself for selling that one. I even contacted the dealer to see where it ended up and ran into a dead end. This new one has 80k less miles and is in Much better shape, though.

After driving around for the past 2 weeks in the snow/ice, I just wanted to do quick review on these Pepboys brand Definity Dakota M/T's (285/75/R16). These tires are made by Cooper, and relabeled by Pepboys.

1) My first worry was over whether or not these things would balance correctly, especially being done by Pepboys finest technicians... I've had ZERO issues with them up to 90 mph. They actually got it right on the first try with a minimal amount weights.
2) While we've only seen 8" or so over the past two weeks, I made a deliberate attempt to drive around every single time the roads were slippery. These things hook up beautifully in the snow, and I've had no issues with braking or steering. I've also done about 8 miles leading on a fire road in in that 7-8" of snow, with zero problems and minimal tire slippage even in 2wd.
3) Tire wear/ lifespan - I'll let you know in about 39,000 miles.
Without a lift, I obviously had to do some trimming. I have the rear shocks already, and I should be picking up some cheap 8 wraps this coming weekend. Now it's time to hunt down a cheap front lift. Yay for College kid money problems at 28 years old....

Welp. I blew the rear left strut out today. TIME FOR A LIFT! :tea:
I have my rear shock replacements here and ready.. I'm LOOKING for 7-8 wraps. Give me a price! I will be ordering toytec coilovers to finish out the front (Any other suggestions? I haven't used them before. Both of my previous 4R lifts were PML's)
