Need opinions - BFG ATs & ProComp Wheels

I'm planning to get new wheels at the same time. Most likely just some black steelies. Maybe some ProComp Series 54 or 97. I've heard of issues with their tires in the past, but how are their wheels? Anyone have them or have prctures of other black steelies on a black T4R?
From what I've seen on here and other places, BFG All Terrains seem to be a very good tire. 98% of my driving is street/freeway and I just occasionally play with 4 wheelin - even though I would like to more. These tires seem to get just about the best reviews in this price range for a mildly aggressive all terrain tire. As well, anyone have any issues with the BFG ATs or can recommend a better tire?

BFGs do get the edge off road but my Nittos are so much better on the road especially in the wet and they cost me $200 less out the door. Nittos are factory siped too so if on the rare chance you would see snow they do exibit good turn in bite on slick surfaces and good rearend control if ytou slide.

Off road I've never had any problems off roading my mostly stock Runner and they handle rock rash quite well. BFGs aren't the greatest choice for a truck that rarely goes off road.

If you see alot of pavement miles a year you might want to look at Bridgestone Revos which have a treadwear warranty and have good road manners. Definetly not as agressive as the Nittos or BFGs but the Revos are a good choice.

Thanks for the info Ron. Those Nittos are nice looking, but doesn't look like they're available in the 32 11.50 15s that I'm planning to get. Pricing seems to be close to BFGs also, however couldn't do an exact comparison since I couldn't find the size.

Any have any experience with Pro Comp wheels in general?

That would be the '95 4R. Stock size was 15 and I've kept em that size. Been running 32 11.50 15s for the last 10 years with no issues.

I've had AWESOME treadwear out of my BFG AT's. I have 60k miles on them and probably can get 30 more. They are however more of a "truck" tire and the stiffer sidewall will give a bit more of a rougher ride. Mine are pretty darn quiet on the highway and absolutely awesome offroad. I wonder what the treadwear is like on the Nitto's? They look nice and aggressive like the BFG and if they are better suited for an SUV then that's what I might go with next rather than the BFG's.

Thats my assumption as well. Doesn't look like they're available in the size I want, so the BFGs are still looking good.

I will have to say, my BFG's are hard to beat but be preparred for a rougher ride. The stiff sidewalls have everything to do with that BUT it's nice to have a bullet proof sidewall too! I've never had a flat on my BFG's and I take my Grand Cherokee off road a lot! On the filp side though I am looking for a bit softer ride so I'm curious about the Nittos and hope those with them will post up and compare them to BFG's for us.

I wouldn't mind trying a set of Nitto TG's myself.

I wonder if they are available through dealers or just mail order stuff ? Places around here don't like to mount tires bought someplace else.

I did a search on Nitto & there is 1 dealer with in 50 miles of my house....... sucks !!!
